NAURU: GETTING AROUND NAURU

Getting around Nauru

Explore the tiniest Pacific Island nation on foot, hire a car from a local or hitch a ride. There's no chance you'll get lost so just relax and enjoy the unusual landscapes...

Getting around NauruA sealed road of about 18 kilometres long rings the island of Nauru, with an inland road to the Buada District heading off this for several kilometres. This inland road takes you to the lagoon and phosphate mining areas. Accommodation is situated close to the beach, so swimming and sunbathing are a simple stroll away.

The island itself is around 21 square kilometres, so not a huge island to navigate! Hire vehicles can be rented from local people and this is best organised through your hotel. There is no public transport system and no taxis are available.

A courtesy airport pick up service is available however, if you are staying at the Menen Hotel .
