Fiji Islands, The Earthly Paradise
Known by many as one of the last earthly paradises on earth, we find the so-called Fiji Islands (also known as Fiji only). A country located in the southern Pacific Ocean Pacific line between Ecuador and the Tropic of Capricorn.
Historically it has been discovered that the inhabitants in these islands from an Asian origin (just south) while in the nineteenth century was the British who colonized these lands, giving an interesting fusion of cultures.
As a curiosity may be mentioned that was previously thought that Fiji was a territory dominated by cannibals, being recently in the late eighteenth century carried out the first expedition to fund these islands, by William Bligh, who discovered that the natives were but not hostile cannibals.
In total can be found in more than 300 Fiji islands under its territorial control, with these variations in size and in people (some of them are completely empty), with a very tropical climate and preferred to practice water sports.
Among the tourist destinations of Fiji are the regions of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Ovalau, Yasawa, Nananu-i-Ra, Mamanuca, Lomaiviti, Lau, Rotuma. Its most important cities are Suva, the capital, Labasa, Lautoka, Levuka, Nabouwalu, Nadi, Nausori, Rakiraki, Savusavu and Sigatoka.
