Immigrants in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is a country located in the Caucasus region, and like many countries around the world, it has a population of immigrants. The exact number of immigrants living in Azerbaijan is not known, but it is estimated that there are around 250,000 to 275,000 foreign citizens living in the country, mostly from neighboring countries such as Armenia (Azeri descendants), Georgia and Russia.
Many immigrants in Azerbaijan come to work in the oil and gas industry, as well as in construction and retail. Some also come to study in Azerbaijani universities, while others come to join their families who are already living in the country.
The Azerbaijani government has implemented some policies to regulate immigration, including a requirement for foreign citizens to obtain a visa before entering the country. In addition, the government has implemented measures to prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking.
Overall, while Azerbaijan may not be a top destination for immigrants compared to other countries, it remains a place where people from different backgrounds come to live and work, contributing to the cultural and economic diversity of the country.
