Immigrants in Central African Republic
The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country located in Central Africa, with a population of approximately 4.9 million people. The country is ethnically diverse, with more than 80 different ethnic groups.
As of 2022, there are relatively few immigrants in the Central African Republic. According to the United Nations, there were approximately 68,000 Immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the country, mostly from neighboring countries such as Sudan, Chad, France, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In recent years, however, the Central African Republic has experienced a significant influx of refugees due to ongoing conflicts in neighboring countries. This has placed a strain on the country's resources and infrastructure, and has also led to social tensions between refugees and local communities.
The government of the Central African Republic has been working with the United Nations and other international organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees and asylum seekers, as well as to address the root causes of displacement in the region. However, the country continues to face significant challenges in terms of poverty, instability, and insecurity, which have made it difficult to effectively address the needs of refugees and other vulnerable populations.
