Muhammadu Buhari is a Nigerian politician who has served as the President of Nigeria since 2015. He was born on December 17, 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria. Buhari is a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army and served as military head of state from 1983 to 1985, after a successful coup d'etat.
Buhari came to power in 2015 after winning the presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party. His campaign was focused on improving security, tackling corruption, and boosting economic growth. He was re-elected in 2019 for a second term in office.
