Immigrants in Eritrea
Eritrea is a country located in the Horn of Africa, and it is known to have a significant number of people migrating out of the country due to political and economic reasons. However, the country is not known to have a significant number of immigrants.
According to the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), in 2023, there were only 12,000 documented immigrants in Eritrea, mainly from Somali and Sudan. The majority of these immigrants are in the country for work-related reasons, such as working in the construction, mining, or agriculture sectors.
However, Eritrea has a large number of refugees and asylum-seekers, with an estimated 200,000 Eritreans seeking asylum in other countries due to political and economic instability in their home country.
